Heart Pilgrim is announcing a 10 day Intensive Sadhana retreat in Uttarkashi, India.
This immersion retreat focuses on deep practice of Vedantic meditation, Yoga, Pranayama and the study of Vedanta philosophy. The daily schedule will be in Mauna (silence) to support inner reflection and assimilation. It is a spiritual retreat designed for sincere practitioners from all disciplines who want to boost their Sadhana (spiritual practice), and for those who want to introduce new techniques into their practice.
Vedantic meditation is a form of rigorous inquiry (Vicharana), as practiced by Himalayan Masters for millennia. It is universal in nature and appropriate for sincere practitioners of any discipline. It originates from the Vedanta philosophy which is one of the most important philosophies of India dealing with the absolute truth, the meaning of existence, and the release from suffering. By using deep inquiry free of dogma, we will dive into and unravel our True Self.
The retreat will take place at Uttarkashi, a picturesque town in the Indian Himalayan region, about 100 miles north of Rishikesh. Uttarkashi is known for its unbroken tradition of great yogis who practice meditation and study the Vedanta philosophy in its deepest form. In Uttarkashi, we will stay at Tapasyalayam Ashram. It is a modern, quiet and spacious place, ideal for spiritual retreats.
Cost. The cost of the retreat is $870 and it includes all expenses from the starting point until the departure point. There is 10% discount for those who register to the Himalayan Ultimate.
Weather. October is a beautiful time in the Himalayas. The weather is mostly very nice with occasional light showers. However, nights and early mornings may be chilly. It is necessary to bring with you warm clothes.
Accommodation. The participants will stay 2-3 persons in a room with an attached bathroom. (Few single rooms are available for additional cost)
Transportation. A bus will pick up the participants from Rishikesh on the morning of September 15 (time and exact place will be announced). It is highly recommended to arrive to Rishikesh at least a day or two earlier to get some rest before the drive to Uttarkashi (6-7 hours) and the beginning of the retreat. Those who want to come to Uttarkashi by themselves should reach Tapasyalayam, Netala, Uttarkashi by 4:00pm on September 15.
The retreat will end in the evening of September 25. A bus will take the participants who don't join the Yatra, and who want to go back to Rishikesh the following morning (September 26th) at about 8am. The drive to Rishikesh takes about 6-7 hours. Please allow yourself a day in Rishikesh before you continue your journey.
